FilePathFinder helps you with operations related to external files in your scene.
(eg. textures.IES files, pointcache files, Vray Proxies, MentalRay Proxies and other plug-ins that work with external links.)
It allows you to collect, sort, rename, relink your external files and search for missing assets.


Unlike some other scripts of its kind,
FilePathFinder
Differentiates Real Missing files and files with not correct paths.
(Identified in the Asset Tracking as Found.)
No need to search for such files.
Path to the such files are fixed for a single click.


FilePathFinder(medium-version) and FilePathFinder-Light
now is free for users of 3ds max 9SP2*& 2008!

Next functions are provided for the operations with files:
Searching on HDD for Missing* external files.

Collecting and sorting files to subfolders, depending on their type.
The option to fix the method of operating with file depending on it’s type:
copying files of certain type or relinking to the existing location.

Elaboration of xRef files in automatic mode.
Preferences

The option to set script’s operations when equal names of copied and existing files appear:

  1. Do not copy file (change path to the existing one Keep old path)
  2. Use the existing file in the folder (to change the link of the new file so, that it would use the existing file in the folder Set new path)
  3. Copy and rename file (AutoRename)
  4. Extend the dialog window with the reduced files’ images, information on size in pixels and bytes, date of creation and modification of each file.
  5. The user will be given all the variations of actions, except for the user’s opportunity to rename, rewrite
    or abort the script’s process manually Ask User)


When equal names of 3dsMax files appear, this menu will pop up, independently from script’s pre-settings.

Clearing Material Editor from the unused materials in manual or automatic modes while searching and collecting files.

The opportunity to create Backup for scenes.

Choosing objects by their connection with files; opening the groups which contain these objects, if needed.

Collecting textures, which contain indicated files, into Material Editor.

Quick and comfortable correction of files’ paths with the Found* status.

Renaming the links by mask (by part of file’s name)(Find&Replace)

Saving the settings for lights, which work with “les”, when paths have been reassigned.

Supporting standard for most Windows programs hotkeys: Ctrl+A (choose all), Ctrl+I (inversion), F2 (rename).

Sorting files in interface by name, path, type and status.

Carrying on the detailed log accordingly to files’ paths’ corrections (before or after the process of searching/collecting file)

Searching and removing of incorrect paths in User path (Incorrect network paths may considerably slow down the process of working with files).

*Comment::
The terms Missing, Found and Ok are analogue of standard dialog of 3dxMax and Asset Tracking and have next meaning:
Missing: The links to absent files in indicated path. Marked with light-crimson in script’s interface.
Found :The links to absent files in indicated paths, but found by 3dxMax by one of paths registered in User Path. Marked with beige in script’s interface.
Ok:Correct links to files. Marked with white in script’s interface.

Project Manager -the utility for organisation of files and work with them in 3ds Max.
It help you with cataloging and using in your projects of a bitmaps, library of models and materials, also IES and HDRI files.
The organization system allows the to keep references to same folder in different catalogs.
For example you can put same folder of 3d models “Classic Chandeliers” in the catalog “Classics” and catalog “Lamps”.
For more convenient job with libraries all information is presented in the thumbnails view.
The utility supports the viewing of all image formats supported by 3ds Max(Such as HDRI,EXR,TGA,PSD and more).
For libraries of models, materials and IES files by means of the utility you can generate thumbnails.

Much of the job with the utility is based at the most simple method – drag & drop, including work with IES files, materials and HDRI.
You can drag and drop materials and textures directly into the viewport, the objects in the Material Editor and modifiers in the Command Panel (for example, displace).
In the same way you can quickly and easily fill catalogs tree – by dragging folders from Windows Explorer to the navigation panel of Project Manager.

Project Manager -утилита для организации библиотек моделей, материалов,текстур и файлов IES.
С ее помощью вы быстро сможете каталогизировать и легко создавать новые материалы, либо использовать уже существующие модели и материалы.
Для более удобной работы с библиотеками информация представлена в виде изображений.
Project Manager поддерживает просмотр всех форматов изображений с которыми работает 3ds Max (Например HDRI,EXR,TGA,PSD и многие другие).
Для моделей, материалов и IES файлов вы можете сгенерировать превью.
Большая часть работы основана на самом простом методе – взял и перетянул.
Прямо из окна утилиты вы можете перетащить во вьюпорт модели, Proxy, материалы и IES.
Так же быстро вы можете заполнить дерево каталогов –
просто перетягивая на панель навигации Project Manager папки из Windows Explorer.

Панель “Asset Files”

Для управления активами сцены (текстуры, Proxy, IES и т.д.) предназначена вкладка “Asset Files”.

На этой вкладке находятся инструменты для поиска потерянных файлов, их сбора и переименования.
Утилита поддерживает работу с XRefs. Возможна обработка файлов 3ds max и бибилиотек материалов в пакетном режиме.
Утилита работает как со стандартными модификаторами, объектами, материалами и эффектами 3ds Max
(Такие как displace, photometric lights,Unwrap UVW,Point Cache,MentalProxy),
содержащими ссылки на файлы, так и с внешними плагинами и рендерами – GroundWiz, VRayScatter, Vray, Brazil.
На данный момент не обнаружено ни одного плагина 3ds Max, с которым бы не работал “Project Manager”.
Если вы найдете такой плагин, вы можете написать о нем на форуме и скорее всего, его поддержка также будет добавлена.
Также на вкладке “Asset Files” по используемой ссылке вы можете быстро выбрать объект или положить в Material Editor (или Slate Material Editor в max 2011 ) материал для редактирования.

Information:
This modifier allow to set planar mapping of selected polygons
and orient map by selected edge or by maximum (minimum) length of edges in each polygons.
Requirements:
  1. 3ds Max 2012 or higher

Brief interface elements description:

Parameters rollout

  1. Sets base edge for planar mapping of each polygon by length of the edge
  2.  Group all polygon mapping and set orient planar mapping by one of the base edges
  3. Quadrafity map faces
    - First: Continuity mapping before Link mapping

    - Reset transform and align parameters
  5. Set up base orient edge and align UV map by U or V axis, set transform center point
  6. Set map channel
  7. Weld new UVW vertices

Information:

This modifier allows you to create a sweep between selected edges using custom shape for profile, similar to NURBS – but for editable poly. Also you can create a blend between two contours (edge selections) using automatic blend profile or custom shape. In addition – you can automatically clean-up meshes after using ShapeMerge modifier. This feature alone makes it worth purchase.

Requirements:

  • 3ds Max 2012 or higher
